Another in my 'garden' series ACEOs (2.5x3.5"). Pansies "The Pansy Patch" - pen and wash (watercolor) on top of old (1887-88) handwritten ledger paper.


I loved pansies as a child, and still always see laughing, happy faces in the 'face' of each one of them.

Eastern Bluebird in acrylics

I have painted a few of these birds - just love their colouring.

The Eastern Bluebird is the state bird of  Missouri and New York.  They are measure 16 - 21 cm in length and weigh between 27 - 34 grams.

Eastern Bluebird measures 6 x 6 inches and is painted on Raymar Feather Lite Canvas panel.

Arabian Horse ACEO in acrylics

I haven't painting an animal aceo for ages so decided to paint this beautiful horse.  Really pleased with the final painting.  Think I will look for some more horse reference photos as I enjoyed painting this one.

Rainbow Lorikeet ACEO in acrylics

 

I love the colours of the Rainbow Lorikeet.  This one was visiting the Honey Gem plant that is in flower at the moment in my back yard .  I managed to take a few good reference photos.

Rainbow Lorikeets are found across the northern and eastern coastal areas of Australia.  They measure 28 - 32 cm in length and weigh on average 133 grams.

Cassowary ACEO in acrylics

I have had this one printed out for ages to print. Really pleased with how it turned out. They are a strange looking bird - I wouldn't like to come across one in the bush as they can do same serious damage with their claws.

The Cassowary is found in North Eastern Australia and the tropical forests of New Guinea.  Cassowaries are around 1.5 - 1.8 metres tall and weigh around 58.5 kilograms. They can run up to 50km/hour through dense forest!!
