One of the reasons why I paint

The following post was initiated after another artist questioned her ability. It reminded me of how I started painting.... My visual story or perhaps interest in art started when I was a victim advocate. I worked with abused children and adults. I enjoyed their art. They used their work as a type of catharsis. Now I don’t know if their work would be lauded by an art critic or not but it had value.
My own personal work is different and usually captures nature or something close to home but I always remember and applaud those abuse survivors for bringing me closer to art.
This is my latest work.
