I'm doing an archive of all my art (no easy task). Currently working on my dollhouse miniatures. I'm up to page 4.

Some of these were done for themed work for miniature enthusiasts (Paris/Tuscany) specifically for their dollhouses/room boxes.

"Abundance" watercolor painting 14x11" wins Quarterly award SOSA.

"Abundance" is my latest watercolor painting. It's a SFA (Small Format Art) - 14x11". A fairly intense work, covering a couple of weeks.

The scene is a typical Rogue Valley view. Eagle Point, to be exact. Showing the abundance of the area. It's as if one is peeking through blackberry and other bushes at the landscape beyond, that includes two grazing horses. The colors are typical summer golds, mixed with rich greens.

Monday night (last night) I attended the SOSA meeting and submitted this painting to be judged at their quarterly critique. To my surprise and delight I was one of the 6 quarterly award winners, making my work eligible for the end of year show for SOSA. The judge was very kind with her comments, and I am grateful.

It was lovely to find that others appreciated my work.

"Beautiful southern Oregon. "Picture Perfect" is what I thought when I woke up to this scene one morning. It was, but knew right away that I wanted to paint it. It's taken a while, but here it is. It wasn't easy. I see my flaws in it, but still shows the "Picture Perfectness" of this wonderful pastoral scene."

One of the reasons why I paint

The following post was initiated after another artist questioned her ability. It reminded me of how I started painting.... My visual story or perhaps interest in art started when I was a victim advocate. I worked with abused children and adults. I enjoyed their art. They used their work as a type of catharsis. Now I don’t know if their work would be lauded by an art critic or not but it had value.
My own personal work is different and usually captures nature or something close to home but I always remember and applaud those abuse survivors for bringing me closer to art. This is my latest work.

An acrylic on Canvas

This recently completed acrylic on canvas, of a deer caught in the shafts of sunlight filtering through the trees , though not sure if I should consider this a landscape or wildlife painting. I will probably show it at the summer exhibition at the end of July, in the meantime I need to update My website so that it shows on there.
