I'm doing an archive of all my art (no easy task). Currently working on my dollhouse miniatures. I'm up to page 4.

Some of these were done for themed work for miniature enthusiasts (Paris/Tuscany) specifically for their dollhouses/room boxes.

You can see where my heart is. - Animals (dogs), gardens/old things, beach/ocean/sunsets, and houses, particularly old ones, both these are heritage homes. The first had animals (cats), birdlife, beaches, flowers/gardens, old things (buildings) and beaches.

I am getting my art together, along with the stories behind the paintings. This is the first page - numbers 1-10 of my miniature paintings in 1:12 scale - meant primarily for dollhouses, roomboxes, etc.

Thoughts on collecting and displaying art in your decor.

Art adds SO much character and adds interest to one's decor.

A few years back I decked all my walls full of art. Some were from floor to ceiling. Some were my art pieces, but it included others' work, too.
I loved to look up and see it. It gave me a lot of joy.
But even more amazing, my visitors loved it. People would come in and go directly to my walls, and conversations would start up. Even people that were usually not interested in art were attracted to it.
While one large artwork over a sofa might be asthetically pleasing, maybe my ideas of collecting and displaying art might be a lovely alternative for some.This is some of my art as displayed in my apartment a few years back. A SFA (Small Format Art - search on SFA to discover more online) watercolor 5x7" of a Royal Doulton teacup with pink roses. There is an ACEO (2.5x3.5" - search on ACEO to discover more online) on top of the china cabinet, too. And a 12x36" acrylic on canvas of music artist "Sammy Blue" (google him to check his work), a friend of mine.
Original art is OOAK - only one of a kind. If you want to be unique, this is a wonderful way to go. Great works can be found online - I'm sure you can find some to fit YOUR budget.

Paintings on display

If you fancy a personal visit to see my paintings in real life, then pay a visit to Portsmouth Cathedral, it runs daily from Saturday 26th July until Friday 8th August, you might even bump into the artist. There are plenty of other interesting things to see in Portsmouth so could be worth having a day out.

Original Painting, Lilac Forest 9x12 YUPO

Lilac Forest is in celebration of spring. This forest is ablaze with lilac, pinks, whites and purples. The background is done with irridescent paints in pinks, purples and lilacs. The sand was mixed into the paint to give a soft glow to the background. The trees are heavily textured and were painted with a palette knife. This is a 9x12 painting. The gallery quality acrylic paint I use floats on top of the paper and aren't absorbed into it. The colors are amazingly vibrant and since I use lots of texture, have a 3D appearance. YUPO is resistant to creasing, tearing or warping in anyway. It will always lay perfectly flat. This painting is mounted on archival treated masonite and is ready to frame, although the frame is NOT included. No need to use a mat or glass. View auction here: Lilac Forest
